Fylakas is a nine-year-old fencer who dreams of becoming a real dragon rather than living an ordinary guard's life as was chosen for him. He scours a perilous dungeon, hoping that he may earn a divine favor by impressing the gods with his considerable martial prowess.

This is the story of when he got shot in the face.
